Notifications on your phone

The app alerts you when someone calls on you in a conversation. By default that means mentions: the app does not ring for every message, so an alert keeps getting your attention.

The first time you open a room, the app asks whether you want to Know when someone calls you. Tap Turn on alerts and allow notifications in the system. If you choose Not now, you can turn them on later in Profile.

If notifications are blocked in the device settings, the app tells you and offers Open settings.

In Profile → Alerts:

  • Alerts on this device turns notifications on or off on this phone only. Turning them off here does not change your web alerts.
  • Alert me about sets the phone’s level:
    • All: every message becomes an alert;
    • Mentions: an @ mention or a reply to something you said;
    • None: the phone does not alert you; unread items stay marked in the list.

The phone’s level is separate from the web’s. For example, you can get everything on your phone and only mentions in the browser.

To make one room alert you differently from the others, open the room and, in its menu, tap Notifications for this room. Choose All, Mentions, or None, or go back to Use the account default. A room set to None shows as muted in the list.

Tapping an alert opens the right conversation. Alerts from Studio on mobile only say what changed (for example, that a conversation is waiting for you), without the conversation text.
